The annual Cableway maintenance will extend over a six-week period this year. Maintenance will begin on Monday 8 July and end on Sunday 18 August.
The maintenance will include replacing the cable car ropes, rope cleaning, renovations, and more. All facilities, including the restrooms at the peak, eateries and shops will be closed. Table Mountain will still be open for hikes.
Visitors whose birthdays overlap with this six-week period will be able to collect and use their free birthday special ticket. Collection will take place one week before maintenance begins and one week after. All that is required is a proof of ID to verify that a birthday will occur over this time.
