Not only will the Boks be parading the Web Ellis Cup, which they won after beating England 32-12 in the final on Saturday, but will also be celebrating their new titles: World Rugby Team of the Year, Coach of the Year and Player of the Year. The latter two were awarded to Rassie Erasmus and Pieter-Steph du Toit respectively.
Captain Siya Kolisi dedicated their win to the South Africans who had supported their squad throughout the tournament.
“We did this for all South Africans – ordinary people who work tirelessly all day long to care for their families and friends and ultimately make our wonderful country an even better place,” Kolisi told South African supporters upon his return to South Africa.
“Winning the World Cup on foreign soil was very special – and arriving home to this wonderful support is the cherry on top. We are tired but grateful, humbled and over-awed – thank you!”
