In its 14th year of hosting this event, SANParks announced that it has extended the SA National Parks Week to include weekends following numerous requests from South Africans who don’t have time to visit the national parks during the week.
This week, SANParks will grant free access to day visitors at most of the 21 national parks, particularly with people from the surrounding communities in mind. Free entry, however, excludes the Namaqua National Park, Boulders Penguin Colony and the Table Mountain Cableway in Table Mountain National Park. It should be noted that free access to the parks does not include free access to accommodation facilities and other tourist activities.
