1. RED Roof at the Radisson Red Hotel
Situated in the trendy Silo District, the Red Roof has the best of both worlds: a view of Table Mountain and the harbour. The rooftop is equipped with one of the most alluring swimming pools in the Mother City, making this the perfect spot to sip the day away at. The pool is open on Monday-Friday from 10:30 am to 11 pm and on Saturday and Sunday from 9 am – 12 am.
2. Gigi Rooftop Bar at the Gorgeous George Hotel
Gigi Rooftop Bar is located in the heart of the Mother City’s CBD on St George’s Mall. This rooftop bar has a speak-easy ambiance, and the minimalist decor is brought to life with pops of green. The semi-covered rooftop has a dining and lounging area, making it the perfect day or nighttime spot. A dip in the pool overlooking whitewashed heritage buildings is a must. Gigi Rooftop bar is open all week from 12 pm – 11:30 pm and the restaurant is open all week from 7 am – 10 pm.
3. Baptiste Rooftop
Overlooking the Atlantic Ocean with the Twelve Apostles mountain range as a backdrop, the Baptiste Rooftop is a luxurious spot to watch the sun go down. Sip on crisp cocktails or snack on some delicious eats while you marvel over the ultimate Cape Town view. Lounge around the pool or keep cool at a table under the shade of the umbrellas. This picturesque place is textbook Cape Town beauty. Baptiste Rooftop is open from Monday – Sunday from 11 am to 8 pm, depending on the weather.
4. Sky Bar at the Grey Boutique Hotel
This intimate rooftop bar is perfect for an inner-city escape. Located in De Waterkant, the Sky Bar boasts an impressive view of Table Mountain and the city. The deck area is covered yet still open-air, allowing you to escape the heat without having to commit to being indoors. If you’re eating dinner in the area, the cocktail menu sports a variety of options, making this a perfect place to stop for an after dinner drink. The Sky Bar is open on Monday to Sunday from 12 pm to 11 pm.
5. Tjing Tjing Rooftop Bar
A visit to Tjing Ting will make you feel as though you’re in the middle of New York City. Overlooking buildings of all shapes and sizes, Tjing Tjing is unassuming, yet sophisticated and charming. The incredible cocktail menu will have you umming and ahhing while you make your decision. What adds to the allure is the modern Japanese restaurant, Tjing Tjing Tori, is right downstairs. Tjing Tjing is open from Tuesday to Friday from 4 pm to 2 am and on Saturdays from 6:30 pm to 2 am.
