South African National Parks (SANParks) says it is concerned about the flaura and fauna in, as well as the communities outside, the Kruger National Park, after rangers discovered raw sewage had washed downstream from a purification plant into a stream in the park.

In an interview with Jacaranda FM, SANParks spokesperson Ike Phaala said, ‘Our concern is that in the long-term if it’s left unattended then it will have consequences for all living organisms in the river system.’
He added that SANParks has engaged with the Mopani district ‘and they have promised that they are going to work on it to sort out the problem’.
