Pictures: 2018’s Geminids shower Posted by Aimee Pace on 18 December 2018 Tags:geminids On 14 and 15 December, the world witnessed the marvel of the biggest and brightest meteor shower of the year, with stargazers sighting up to 100 meteors per hour. If you didn’t get the chance to catch the dazzling display this year, here are some of the most awe-inspiring photographs from around the world captured when the solar event reached its peak. I was facing the opposite direction and suddenly the whole campground lit up. By the time I figured out what it was it was over. I was elated to find that my timelapsing camera had captured it perfectly in frame.☄️ Watch the 2m timelapse video, online now! @pagefilms ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ #geminids #meteors #shootingstars #astro #luckystrike #geminids2018 #geminidsmeteorshower #geminidshower #ohia #ohiatrees #celestial #celestialevents #kilaueavolcano #hawaiivolcanoesnationalpark #decembersky #longexposure_shots #longexpelite #longexpohunter #longexpo_addiction #astrophotography #night_photography #night_exposures #milkywaychasers #astro_photography_ A post shared by Lance Page Photography (@lancepage_photo) on Dec 17, 2018 at 5:49pm PST View this post on Instagram Geminids Meteor Shower A post shared by Aravind (@aravind.hp) on Dec 15, 2018 at 11:04am PST View this post on Instagram Var ute i -25c och fotade Geminiderna. So many triplets and long arching meteors, easily 100+ per hour. Top 2 show for me right up there with a Perseids storm I saw in Yosemite in 1994. I learned a frozen lake sounds like its snoring as the ice shifts at night. I’m also reminded how brutal it is spending a night outside or in a vehicle when its 10 degrees. Some parts may be mistaken for another planet. 😁 My first meteor shower I’ve shot. I captured 8 in my first comp over almost 2 hours. Stargazing was great just looking up and seeing a meteor every few minutes. There was one I saw that was just amazing and 5x bigger and brighter than the others and left what looked like a smoke trail behind. Too bad I didn’t capture one of those. 🌌 ============================ • Sony A7iii + Rokinon 20mm F1.8 • 20mm, F1.8, 30s, ISO 1250 (x9) • Hoya Intensifier Filter ============================ Cantil, California December 2018 . #Geminids #geminidsmeteorshower #Milkyway #redrockcanyon #longexposure #redrockstatepark #CaliforniaLove #NightPhotography #nationalpark #meteors #night_captures #stars #rsa_night #Nature #way2ill #Pocket_nights #nightphotography_exclusive #bns_longexpo #night_captures #CaliforniaCaptures #nightshooterz #milkywaychasers #bealpha #sonya7iii #rokinon #milkywaygalaxy #sonyimages #SonyAlpha #sonyalphateam #hoyatough @sonyimages @sonyalpha @sonyalphasclub @sonyalphateam @conquer_ca @ig_unitedstates_ @rokinon @hoyafilterusa A post shared by Adam || California (@travelforpictures) on Dec 17, 2018 at 6:05am PST View this post on Instagram Don’t let your dreams be forsaken by the starry nights 😍 #milkyway #astrophotography #astronomy #creative #creativity #meteor #meteorshower #geminidmeteorshower #geminidsmeteorshower #geminidsmeteorshower2018 #shootingstar #Iran #friendship #milkywaychasers #starrynight #dream #canon #canon40d #longexposure #longexposhots #night_excl #ژیوار_البرز @zhivar_gp A post shared by Akbar Nemati (@akbarnemati) on Dec 17, 2018 at 11:17pm PST View this post on Instagram #geminids #geminidsmeteorshower #geminids2018 #nightphotography #night #stars #starrynight #sanjuanraya #puebla #reservadelabiosferatehuacáncuicatlán #venus #planetvenus #planetas #planets A post shared by Lapsus Temporis (@lapsus_temporis) on Dec 17, 2018 at 8:50pm PST Bright #GeminidMeteor spotted over Czech Republic on 13/14 December 2018.#GeminidsMeteorShower #Astronomy #NightSky pic.twitter.com/Voi2CXQIAI — Jenna (@Jenna__MIT) December 16, 2018 46P/Wirtanen desde Suecia.
