Passenger steps up to pilot delayed flight

Passengers on an Easyjet flight were a bit nervous when a fellow passenger volunteered to fly the delayed plane to Spain. 

Luckily, their minds were put at ease when the off-duty Easyjet pilot Michael Bradley got onto the planes speaker system and explained that despite his casual attire, he was a licensed pilot and had volunteered to fly the plane. 

According to IOL, Bradley had been told about the possibility of a flight delay by his wife in the early hours of the morning. He decided to take his pilot’s license to the airport with him ‘just in case.’ 

Before going through security he decided to call his bosses to offer to fly the plane since they were struggling to find a captain for the flight. 

‘They phoned me back and said, “please, please, pretty please with a big cherry on top, can you fly the aeroplane to Alicante”?’he said. ‘So if you’re alright for one of your pilots to look like this today, we’ll go to Alicante.

Easyjet told HuffPostUK that the exceptional incident showed the dedication of their crew and that because he had his license and ID with him, he was fully in line with industry regulations.

It could only happen to me!! Get to the airport and our flight is delayed a couple of hours… then I happen to look at…
