Mango has confirmed that it will launch daily return flights from Johannesburg and Cape Town to Port Elizabeth, starting 5 December.
The airline will operate one return flight daily between the respective cities using leased aircraft until early next year when it expects to add capacity to its fleet.
Bookings can be made from November 20 and the inaugural Johannesburg-Port Elizabeth fare is from R599 and the Cape Town-Port Elizabeth fare is from R699 (both one way), available on selected flights. Payment may be made with Edgars and Jet account cards online and through the airline’s call centre.
Mango CEO, Nico Bezuidenhout said: “There is a requirement for a low-cost carrier on the Johannesburg-Port Elizabeth and Cape Town-Port Elizabeth route and, with the recent exit of capacity, Mango has brought forward its plans by a few months to accommodate market demand.” He said the new route was one of several planned for the next 18 months with a focus on the east-African seaboard.
