Today, on 11 December 2018, Kingsley Holgate and his team arrived safely in Kathmandu, completing their Cape2Kathmandu expedition.
The group set off from the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town on 18 July (Mandela Day) earlier this year and made their way up through Africa to the Horn in their expedition Land Rovers. The Landies were then shipped across to Istanbul, Turkey. After some delays with the paperwork for the vehicles, the group were back on the move and headed towards Asia in the direction of their destination, Kathmandu in Nepal.
This video was posted on the Kingsley Holgate Foundation Facebook page earlier today and shows the big-bearded explorer excitedly narrating the team’s entry into Kathmandu, complete with a tourist police escort.
