Ever wanted to explore the plains of the Serengeti or indulge in a hot air balloon ride over vast game reserves? Now you can, Kenya Airways has increased flights from Cape Town International Airport to Jomo Kenyatta International airport in Nairobi, making travel from South Africa that much easier.
The airline will now provide more direct flights between Nairobi and Cape Town (and vice versa) operating on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 1 December 2018.
Flights will increase from three direct weekly flights to five flights each week, creating more travel opportunities for locals. This comes after the recent launch on 6 June 2018 of direct flights from Cape Town to the bustling city of Nairobi.
Tickets for the festive season to Kenya will start at R4710 for a one-way ticket.

2. Ali Barbours Cave Restuarant A natural marvel that offers a romatic and unique setting nestled in a cave on the beach of Diani Sea resort in Kenya is a must-see. The cave is estimated to be between 120 000 to 180 000 years old and is made up of coral that has created a number of chambers interlinked with one another – offering a range of rooms to dine in. The restaurant menu has dishes from pasta to seafood – patrons are advised to book a table at the mountain of the cave to dine under the night time star sky.
3. Interact with baby elephants A visit to the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust allows you to engage with orphaned baby elephants that have been rescued from illegal ivory poaching. The wildlife sanctuary offers a close-up encounter with baby elephants as you watch them being bottle fed by their minders. It is a heart-warming and educational experience. Visitors are also able to adopt an elephant and donate to their monthly upkeep.
4. Hot Air Balloon over the Serengeti Gaze upon the African landscape as you travel up high in hot air balloon with Serengeti Balloon Safaris. This is a unique way to experience a safari – as you watch herds of zebras or wildebeest cross the land. Hot Air balloon rides start in the peak of the sunrise to provide guests with a candid capture moment of the African sunrise.
