Heroin seized at CT International
An alleged drug dealer was arrested when customs officials at Cape Town International Airport discovered heroin to the value of nearly R1-million in a traveller’s briefcase.
“This week’s incident happened when Sars [SA Revenue Service] customs detector dogs uncovered a powdery substance that turned out to be 3.254kg of heroin,” SARS said in a statement. “The heroin was neatly concealed in three packages inside the suspect’s leather briefcase.”
The alleged drug dealer is reported to have been on his way to a central European country when the drugs were found.
