Gauteng floods: Massive waterfall in botanical gardens
Unusually heavy rains in Gauteng over the weekend have caused flooding in large parts of the province, with the Walter Sisulu Botanical Gardens being no exception. Residents posted footage online of a huge waterfall that was created in the garden as a result.
The City of Joburg said disaster management teams are facilitating temporary accommodation and relief supplies to victims affected by the floods, according to IOL. The floods have claimed the lives of at least three people, according to EWN.
The SA Weather Service has warned locals to be vigilant and extremely cautious when driving on the roads, as more rain is expected to fall in the next few days.
