South African Weather Service (SAWS) has forecasted a week of torrential downpours for KwaZulu-Natal. SAWS released a notice warning of heavy rain and possible flooding for parts of the province.
‘Leading to localized flooding and reduced visibility is expected over parts of Ugu and Ethekwini DMs from today,’ said SAWS.

According to IOL, Sipho Hlomuka, the co-operative Governance and Traditional Affairs MEC, has put disaster management teams on standby. ‘Our disaster management teams are on standby in areas that are prone to flooding and they will be monitoring the situation. We have full confidence in our teams’ ability to provide the necessary support should the need arise.’
