Thula Thula Private Game Reserve announced the birth of a baby white rhino, to mother Mona, on Facebook. This is the first time in over a century that a rhino calf has been born on the private game reserve in KwaZulu-Natal.

Thula Thula was unaware that Mona was pregnant when she arrived at the reserve and so the birth of the calf was truly a surprise.
The baby was born on 15 March in the evening. The calf is healthy and other animals on the reserve have paid a congratulatory visit to Thula Thula’s Main House.
‘Our gorgeous elephant family congratulating Francoise to the birth our our rhino baby! Isn’t it incredible that every time when something happens at Thula Thula the elephants appear at the Main House?’ said Thula Thula in a Facebook post.
Thula Thula has ensured the safety of their new addition with their expert anti-poaching unit team.
