At the country’s State of Nation address yesterday, South African president Cyril Ramaphosa announced the roll-out of e-Visas, which are hoped to make visa applications easier for tourists wanting to visit the country.
The hope is to increase the number of tourists into South Africa by fast-tracking the application process.

e-Visas are official documents issued online by The Department of Home Affairs, and a quick alternative to the paper-based visas issued by embassies.
The initiative is planned to launch at the end of this financial year.
