The LEGO® movie team and Turkish Airlines have joined forces to launch a new safety video for the airline that coincides with the release of The LEGO Movie 2. Last year, the company created its first LEGO safety video, which received an overwhelming response of over 20-million views. The video also won gold at the 2018 Clio Entertainment Awards.
More than 20-million LEGO bricks were used in the production of the new safety video – ten times more than the first video used.
Eight international destinations feature in the safety video, including South Africa’s very own Cape Town. LEGO used 24,000 mini-figures to create a crowd in the company’s version of the Cape Town Stadium, which appears hosting a Super Hero match.
Turkish Airlines flies to many international destinations and created both an English and a Turkish version of the video in order to cover the safety particulars of 28 aircraft models in the company’s fleet. Video production took 979 hours, more than four months, and over 400 people were involved in producing all of the 11 different versions.
Turkish Airlines has also paid tribute to the company’s relationship with LEGO with a specially-wrapped narrow body Airbus A321-231 livery.
