BA reduces JNB–London flights

Posted by Elise Kirsten on 29 April 2019

British Airways will be reducing the number of flights per week between Johannesburg and London by four from 1 June 2019.

Last year the airline increased the number of flights between Heathrow and Oliver Tambo International to 18, but from June there will be 14 weekly flights once more, translating to a total loss of 864 seats.

The reason for the change is to meet the increased demand on its London–Mumbai route, after the all flight operations by Indian airline Jet Airways have been ‘temporarily suspended’. British Airways will cut flights BA51 and BA50, and the B787-9 Dreamliner plane on which they are operated will be redeployed between the UK and India.
