The first season of the series will be coming to South Africa on 10 April 2019. Netflix watchers will go on adventures around the world with Grylls over eight episodes and help him survive the jungle, desert, forests, and mountains.
Grylls revealed in an Instagram post that some of the adventures include searching and rescuing a stranded Alpine rescue dog, finding a doctor lost in a jungle and surviving being stranded in the desert.

Viewers will be prompted with onscreen questions while watching the episodes. They will have a certain amount of time to choose which decision they think Grylls should take. They select the decision on screen and see what happens next. The storyline depends on the choices you make.
‘I’m so proud to deliver this first-of-its-kind live-action interactive series, really giving viewers an all access pass to explore the world and its landscapes in my boots. The stakes are high in this one!’ says Grylls.
This is not the first interactive series Netflix has produced. This series has been described as a ‘family-friendly adventure’ by the Netflix Vice President of Original Series, Cindy Holland.
Grylls shot to fame in 2006 with his series Man vs Wild. In this Discovery Channel series, he travelled the world to show viewers how to survive in the toughest situations. His creative methods of squeezing water from elephant dung or drinking his own urine went viral. Since then, he has been making more series, written 15 books and led expeditions for charity.
