Jock Safari Lodge is named after the canine hero of Sir Percy Fitzpatrick’s legendary story set during the goldrush era. Situated in the southwestern corner of the Kruger National Park, Jock guests enjoy 6 000 hectares of exclusive Big Five game viewing, birdwatching and open vistas for stargazing. The classic safari lodge was recently revamped to add modern comforts and conveniences while paying homage to its rich history and heritage. Main Lodge’s 12 thatched suites each have a private deck with an outdoor Victorian bath and shower, plunge pool and enclosed sala daybed. Nearby, Fitzpatrick’s has been re-designed as an intimate lodge for a group of friends or family travelling together. It boasts a two-suite unit leading to a private deck with plunge pool and views across the river bed, plus a separately located third suite. jocksafarilodge.com
