Snorkel in False Bay’s kelp forest and promote conservation
We joined Cape Researcher and Diver Development (RADD) in a marine conservation-based citizen science adventure to count the fish and sharks of False Bay in the nutrient-rich waters.
This family-friendly snorkelling outing in the sheltered cove of Windmill Beach, near Simon’s Town, is guided by marine biologists and promotes the conservation of South Africa’s marine environment. It allows anyone to participate in accumulating data on the species found in the kelp forests and the information that you record will be uploaded to a database used by the biologists to study the environment.
Cape RADD also facilitates SCUBA and freediving training courses for people who want to learn more about the marine environment, conservation and research through hands-on field experience.
