Skydiving in Victoria Falls
Michelle Hardie jumped out of a plane in Victoria Falls and is delighted she lived to tell the tale. Strapped snuggly to dashing Skydive Tandem Co instructor Ofer Cohen, she was 10,000 feet above Earth, yet her screams of joy and terror could be heard by her family in Harare. Getaway selected Victoria Falls as the best natural wonder in Africa to celebrate the magazine’s 30-year legacy of travel journalism. Read about her trip in the April birthday issue on sale now.
We have sadly learnt that skydive instructor Ofer Cohen drowned while swimming in the Zambezi River. He had been travelling the world for 13 years and was about to spend two weeks in South Africa before heading to Kenya. We pay tribute to his adventurous spirit.
