A good day, we are finding food; the camp needs to be better organised though!
Didn’t get much sleep, and a few quite strange dreams when I did. It’s not that the hammock was uncomfortable, just strange to sleep in it. Awake pretty early and back to pumping water. We need so much and must make sure to keep up.
Matt caught three fish in the river which were planned for lunch. Jono called me down the beach as he had found an eel fighting with a fish and thought to spear it. I got there but it proved to be a sneaky one and got away. The fish it had attacked looked like a stone fish [very poisonous]. It was almost dead. I removed it from the water and buried it for safety.
We ate lunch, which tasted delicious (I imagine everything will, the hungrier I get). I cooked some of my rice which was great!
And since then it’s been a rather lazy day, now sitting in the shade. Learning some Spanish with Huenu and Maya, and people are writing and resting as it is soooo hot.
