Folks, we’ve made a spectacular blunder.
Contrary to what you’ll find reported on Page 1 of our September issue, the animals featured below are cheetahs. In fact, there is not a single leopard on the entire page.
(To add insult to injury, they’re also nowhere near Zimanga – they are a good hundred kilometres north, at Mashatu Game Reserve.)
We can only humbly apologise, to our readers and the maligned cheetahs, who are probably suffering something of an identity crisis right now. It was due to a last-minute glitch of a photo change (of an actual leopard) at a watering hole.
We’ll be donating some money to Wildlife ACT Fund in the hopes that cheetahs will one day forgive us for this glaring error.
