Not sure how to spoil your mom this Mother’s Day? Here are a bunch of ideas, each one bound to make your mom feel special.

3. Lunch at the Raddison Blue Hotel Waterfront

Treat your mom to a scrumptious lunch buffet on Mother’s Day, at 12h30, at Tobago’s Restaurant and Terrace at the Radisson Blu Hotel Waterfront. This includes a specially crafted cupcake and tea pairing experience.

Celebrate Mother’s Day at The Cellars-Hohenort Hotel, with a luxurious lunch at The Conservatory on 13 May 2018. Enjoy a leisurely stroll with your mum in the historic gardens before heading back to the restaurant, where a glass of chilled bubbles await before lunch.

The menu will consist of: Artisan breads and spreads, amuse bouche, the Cellars classic table salads, garden salad with grilled artichokes and avocado, the classic Caesar salad, poached pear salad with walnuts and gorgonzola, strawberry salad with grilled halloumi and springbok biltong.

For mains, you can choose between a pan roasted East Coast sole paired with caper and lemon beurre blanc or a free-range baby roasted chicken paired with grilled baby leeks and chicken sherry jus or a free-range beef fillet paired with bone marrow crust and red onion port wine jus.

Family table sides served with the main course are, roasted potatoes and butter baby carrots, creamy rosemary and parmesan gratin, grilled pumpkin, brassica vegetable with romesco.

Finishing off with dessert and enjoy a salted caramel tart with pear mousseline, apple crumble and butterscotch cremeux or a vanilla cheesecake with wild berry compote, coconut, stone fruit, blueberry salsa and sour cream.

5. Lunch at De Oude Werf Hotel

De Oude Werf Hotel in Stellenbosch is offering a special Mother’s Day lunch. The menu includes, a choice of roasts; either lamb with garlic and rosemary, served with pan gravy and a homemade mint and onion jam; gammon swathed in honey and treacle sugar with homemade mustard; and succulent free-range chicken.

There will be roast potatoes, sweet potatoes baked with caramel, as well as Jollof rice, that heart-warming North African celebration dish of fried rice spiced with nutmeg, cumin and ginger, warmed with chili peppers and stirred through with onions and tomatoes. There will be a table salad and for dessert, a warming, traditional peach pudding with homemade custard. A berry sorbet will also be served with freshly sliced fruit.
