A swing. A great view. What more does one need to relax? Here are some swings, from around the world, in Instagram worthy settings.

1. The swing at the end of the world, Baños, Equador

Known as ‘the swing at the end of the world,’ this perch hangs from a tree 2600m above sea level, at Casa del Arbol, outside of the town of Baños, Equador. There’s also a zip line and a few other swings within the small park of Casa del Arbol. This swing hangs from a tree that also holds a tree house, which is a seismic monitoring station for the nearby active volcano of Mt. Tungurahua.

Jenny Y (from Florida Beach, Miami) posted the following description on Trip Advisor on 8 June 2018, “This is a must do in Baños. There are buses that can take you up there or you can take a 15 minute cab drive from town. The entrance is only $1 for the amazing experience to swing from a tree house off the cliff. The view is incredible and if the sky is clear, you may even see the volcano.”

2. Swing overlooking Hjørundfjord, Norway

According to Norway Tourism’s offical site, visitnorway.com, this is the swing that overlooks the Hjørundfjord is situated in the garden at an inn known as Christian Gaard Bygdetun, “in the remote, road-less village of Trandal. To get there, you must either come over the mountain or arrive by sea”.

There are a number of swings in San Franciso that offer wonderful views, but this one at Kirby Cove, with the famous Golden Gate Bridge in the background, is our favourite. Other spots around the city where you’ll find a swing with a view include, Billy Goat Hill and Bernal Heights.

4. Rice Terrace Tegalalang, swing Bali

This swing, which hangs between two palm trees, is located in the village of Tegalalang, north of Ubud in Bali. It overlooks a picturesque landscape of stepped, rice-paddy terraces and unsurprisingly it’s a tourist hotspot.

5. Swing in Phnom Kulen National Park, Cambodia

You’ll find the Phnom Kulen National Park in northwestern Cambodia, about 50km from Siem Reap, and this swing is found at one of the waterfalls within the park. According to Phil T’s review on Trip Advisor, “We visited smack in the middle of the Khmer new year so was very overcrowded! Still an absolutely stunning experience! If you are looking for activities around Siem Reap, spend a day here.”

6. Datu Swing, Gili Trawangan, Indonesia

Gili Trawangan is a small Indonesian island off the coast of Lombok Island (close to Bali), where there are no traffic jams or exhaust fumes, as the island doesn’t allow motorised vehicles. It’s here that you’ll find Hotel Ombak’s Datu Swing, which became rather famous after MTV Australia published a story on the best scenic activities on Bali and Gili in 2015, entitled 7 Activities to do in Bali with an epic backdrop.

7. Koh Lanta Swing, Thailand

This swing is found in Mu Koh Lanta National Park on the Thai island of Koh Lanta Yai, which forms part of the southern part of Krabi Province. With a view like that it looks like a beach swing that you could swing on forever.
