THULE has just released a new range of camera bags that look set to impress even the die-hard outdoor photographer.
THULE Daypack
THULE has re-imagined the conventional camera bag and brings you the Perspektiv™ Collection. The new range includes four bags: the GoPro case, Daypack, Toploader and Messenger camera bag. I have the great pleasure of testing out the Daypack and the full review will follow.
Technically, the bags really hold their own fitted with Cloudburst Technology offering protection from the elements through welded and taped critical seams and Durable Water Resistant (DWR) treated fabric to keep the splashes out. Like most other camera bags, they also have a sneaky raincover. THULE’s SafeZone™ Technology that features in their quality luggage range also forms part of the compartments in every Perspektiv™ camera bag.

The GoPro Case
GoPro case
The GoPro case is a much needed bag if you have a GoPro. They come with so many goodies and attachments that are easy to lose track of.
GoPro Case dividers
This bag is made with a crushproof padded camera compartment with a divider system to keep everything in their allocated place. The shell protects your gear from bumps and bashes, while the flip down organisation panels keeps the SD cards and other spares locked in place. The bag closes with a roll down soft top so you can stash your jacket or roll it down when it’s not needed.

The Daypack
The Daypack is a great travel companion and I’m really excited about it. It has all the right compartments, zips and pockets that an outdoor photographer on the go needs. It also has the mandatory tripod back strap and a side pocket for your water bottle. It is comfy with a padded back that also permits some ventilation so you don’t get such a sweaty back (carrying around camera gear is hard work!). There is space enough for a DSLR body with an attached lens and customisable storage for another two lenses.
THULE Daypack modular pods
What makes this camera bag different is the removable pod system. You can pack away your camera into a the bag and pull out the pod if you want to leave your camera, or carry separately to use the daypack as a plain backpack.

The Toploader
The Toploader is a smaller bag that will carry all your basics. It has easy access to the camera and there are three ways of wearing it with a removable stabilising waist belt.
THULE Toploader camera bag
It comes in two sizes, a medium bag which can hold a DSLR body with attached zoom lens and batteries, and a bigger size which can fit a DSLR body with extended battery pack and lens up to 70-200mm.
Costs R1 399 for medium bag and R1 999 for the large.
The Messenger
The Messenger bag harks back to school days and slings over your shoulder. You can use it for the office, out in the field and you can quickly whip it around for access to your camera. It holds a laptop the size of a 15″ Macbook Pro in a seperate padded compartment and a DLSR camera with attached zoom lens.
