The inflatable, fur-covered Go Travel Snuggy Snoozer travel pillow feels like you’re sleeping with a teddy bear. It’s not the most comfortable option, but it folds up into a small package, especially convenient if you have limited luggage space.

Choosing the right pillow

Make the most of your travel pillow by getting one that best suits your needs.

  • Ask whether space or comfort is more important. Foam-filled pillows aren’t the smallest, but while inflatable pillows fold up, they aren’t as comfortable.
  • Find a pillow with a removable jacket or one that is easily washed to prevent bacteria build-up. It’s more hygienic even if you don’t use it that often.
  • Plastic can get sweaty, so opt for fabric-covered pillows.

If you find wrap-around travel pillows irritating, head to an outdoor store for a small camping pillow which costs about R100.
