Ingredients
Serves 6
- Six bananas
- One pineapple
- Sugar (brown or white)
- Six scoops of vanilla ice cream
- Golden syrup
Peel the pineapple, cut into six slices and sprinkle with sugar. Braai the pineapple slices and unpeeled bananas over medium coals (the bananas are ready when they have turned black). Take the pineapple off the braai when the sugar has caramelised. Slice bananas lengthways and open them by pressing on both ends. Each banana should now look like a canoe. Arrange the bananas and pineapple slices on a platter and place one scoop of ice cream inside each banana “˜canoe’. Drizzle golden syrup on top, giving expression to your hidden artistic skills. Serve immediately.
