Marnie was born in Zimbabwe and spent some crazy times doing all kinds of things. Growing up in the bush gave her the chance to learn about wildlife, wild areas and some fairly wild people, which is probably why she ended up marrying a game ranger. Her career so far has been a rich mix of interesting jobs in Southern Africa, England and the Channel Islands, including barmaid, photographer’s assistant, herb grower, cat catcher, safari lodge manager and freelance writer. After many years living and working in some of Southern Africa’s most incredible lodges and reserves, she’s now based in Cape Town with her husband, Phill, a professional photographic guide, and daughter Zoe. She writes and occasionally manages to keep up with the housework as she re-adapts to “normal” life.
