I'm not sure when I fell in love with exploration and the great outdoors, or when it became a part of me. My earliest memories are a mosaic of moments, from watching a bull elephant and a pride of lions drinking at a waterhole in Etosha Nature Reserve, to camping with my family at Bontebok rest camp. All I know is, when that restless feeling builds up again, I am gripped by the urgency to experience other cultures, meet interesting people, and share my adventures. Now it seems the stars have aligned and I am interning at Getaway magazine. I finally feel like Robert Frost when he wrote, “Two roads diverged in a wood, and I, I took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference.”
