We asked you to show your support for World Elephant Day by sharing your best ellie pics in the Wonder of Elephants Photo Competition to win a safari adventure for two to Hwange National Park, Zimbabwe with Wilderness Safaris. The response was overwhelming! We received almost 600 photo entries in less than two weeks. Last week, we asked you to vote and again, the response was phenomenal. We received almost 1 200 votes.
The winner
After intense deliberation from our panel of judges, combined with the votes you cast last week, there was one clear winner.

The following photos rounded out the Top 10 and were all highly commended.
Anco Pretorius - Elephant Family. This was taken in the Kruger National Park in March 2013
Peter Delaney - He stands still before me in all his magnificence, raising his trunk with red Kalahari dust. In one move he sprays his forehead and is covered in the magic of dust and light.
Villiers Steyn - Trunks in the air. I came across this herd of elephants early one morning in the Majale riverbed in Mashatu. After 20 attempts I finally got a shot of them drinking at the same time.
Marcus Westberg - Elephant storm. Elephants cross the Masai Mara, Kenya savanna in the afternoon, heading for the hills to escape an approaching storm.
Morkel Erasmus - A large elephant bull raises himself up on his hind legs in the floodplain-woodlands of Mana Pools in Zimbabwe to reach the succulent leaves up high.
Eugene Troskie - Elephant's foot. I had an up-close and very personal experience with this elephant bull that was standing right next to us.
Valmai le Grange - Siesta time at Hapoor Dam in Addo Elephant Park.
Jaco Marx - The misty clouds were covering us on early morning at Sabi Sand. Visibility was low and as we started the game drive a dark shadow emerged in the distance. It was an elephant bull.
Sue-Lesley Norgate - Ellie hugs.
