Power struggles, conflict, uprisings, and high mortality rates. Everything they say about Africa is true – everything about the animal kingdom that is.
This month, BBC Knowledge shows you the natural history of Africa and its wildlife in a way you have never seen it before, expertly narrated by David Attenborough. AFRICA is a surprising and awe-inspiring series that brings you eye to eye with the unknown, and it is definitely a must-watch:
The #AfricaBBC series takes you on an epic five part journey through Africa’s natural history, exploring the contrasting beauty of the Kalahari, the Savannah, Congo, The Great Cape, and culminates in an exploration of the Sahara.
To be part of the action, you can tune into the first episode – Kalahari – Sunday, 17 February 2013 at 18h00 on BBC Knowledge – DStv Channel 184.
In Africa’s South West corner two extraordinary deserts lie side by side – these deserts turn the rules of survival on their head. In the Kalahari scrub lands, clever meerkats are outsmarted by a wilybird, solitary black rhinos get together to party and giant insects stalk huge flocks of birds. The highlight of this first episode, however, is arguably the greatest giraffe battle ever captured on film.
To enhance the launch of the epic new Africa series BBC Knowledge we have teamed up with BBC Knowledge and Nomad Africa Adventure Tours to give you the chance to win an exclusive adventure holiday through East Africa, including Kenya, Malawi, Tanzania, Zambia AND Zanzibar! So those who enter can not only see Africa for all its beauty and power – but also get a chance to experience it for themselves.
