Living the dream

Posted by Brendon Cremer on 17 June 2011

For as long as I can remember I loved being in the outdoors.

Wildlife and nature were huge passions of mine from a very young age. As a young boy I spent hours flipping through wildlife magazines and photo books gazing at the pictures, not doing too much reading mind you, as the picture were far more interesting and day dreaming about what it would be like to live the life I saw before me in those books. After my education (which seemed to drag on for years), it was inevitable that I would pursue a life and career in the outdoors.

This lead me to a life as a professional guide, in which I was fortunate enough to work in and experience some of the greatest wilderness areas Africa has to offer. After a few years into my guiding career I picked up a camera and started photographing and recording what I had the privilege of experiencing. Photography gave me an even deeper passion and insight into the world of wildlife, a more intimate one I believe where you appreciate the nuances of light, shadows, textures and form. Photography enabled me to capture a world that many people will never get to experience: a world of beautiful colours, sunsets and sunrises, great mountains, rivers, deserts and a multitude of wildlife. Being able to share my passion for wildlife and the visual beauty of the world around me with those who are not able to experience it with me is the greatest privilege of all and photography allows me to do this.

I have realised that i am living the dreams I once dreamt of as a young boy. Are you living your dream?
