The only problem with all of Cape Town’s incredible markets is that they only exist once or twice a week. And the V&A Waterfront just solved that problem with the Market on the Wharf, a permanent artisan market with all the deliciousness expected from a Cape Town market. With a massive ground floor, a loft area and another upstairs section, this market can truly satisfy any culinary need. From curry to delicious ready-made rolls, oysters, fresh juice and sweet treats to shun even the strictest of diets, Market on the Wharf just became everyone in the area’s favourite lunch stop.
It’s open from Wednesday to Sunday 9:30 – 19:30 and can be found next door to the big arts and crafts centre on Dock Road, conveniently opposite the drop and go area. They even have lockers where you can put your shopping. Find them on Twitter (@VA_Market_Wharf), like their Facebook page or visit their website, www.marketonthewharf.co.za.
