It is the world’s fourth largest island; a haven of biodiversity, with no less than six microclimates. 80% of the animal and plant species found here exist nowhere else. This is Madagascar, one of the most exciting, unique and vibrant countries on Earth. And best of all, it’s just a three-hour flight from Johannesburg.
To celebrate a new and exciting Photographic Tour that Gemma Catlin and I will be leading in Madagascar this February, we’d like to share some of our images from a recent trip.
The Photographic Tour
In partnership with Asisten Travel, this two-week tour will take in some of Madagascar’s most beautiful pockets. We will visit baobab forests, traditional fishing villages, buzzing markets, white sand beaches, tea plantations and dramatic canyons. We will travel through mountains, the highlands and into tropical rainforests, before later hitting the dry bush and semi desert in the south. And we will photograph a wide variety of Madagascar’s endemic plants and animals, including adorable lemurs and colour-shifting chameleons, along with hundreds of bird species. It’ll be one hell of a ride.
If you’re interested in attending please visit www.asisten-travel.com. When booking, please quote ‘Getaway blog’. Places limited to 16 people.
