Photo blog: Canoe safari down the Orange River
A four-day catered canoe safari down the Orange River from Vioolsdrif to Aussenkehr farm with a bunch of friends and their kids must be the best value for money and family bonding trip that I know. This was the 8th time we did this trip as a family and the “kids” are now 21 and 24 years old and still coming back for more! Four days of paddling, drifting, enjoying spectacular desert mountain scenery, swimming, chilling, shooting the odd rapid and sleeping out under the brightest stars you will ever see. All this washed down with plenty of cold beers and being dished up the most amazing food (as always).
Thanks to Aquatrails and their incredibly organised guides who make catering over a fire for 28 people seem simple.
