The Museum of Ice Cream (MOIC) is a multisensory, interactive art centre which first sold its funky flavours through pop-up installations in New York in 2016. Having opened a permanent centre in San Francisco with other pop-ups around the US, the MOIC will return to the trendy Manhattan suburb of SoHo where it all began.
Currently, installations at the San Francisco Museum of Ice Cream include a ‘sprinkle pool’ among other quirky Insta-worthy activities and ice-cream experiences. According to co-founder and creative director Maryrellis Bunn, the new space will comprise three floors, the largest sprinkle pool yet and 13 new installations to excite visitors and the Museum’s huge following.
‘I want to continue to connect people and create moments of joy through ice cream,’ says Bunn. ‘MOIC NYC will build upon Soho’s artistic history and contribute to the neighbourhood’s resurgence as a place for imagination and creativity.’
Tickets will go on sale on 9 October 2019, and will cost $38 (about R580) but be sure to add your name to the waiting list for the much-anticipated Manhattan flagship museum.
