Watching the huge thunder clouds roll past is GREAT.
Our first day with just the five of us passed uneventfully. I’m certainly less busy than I was, with fewer medical jobs and less water needing to be pumped. Physically I’m feeling well, so we did a big firewood collection in the afternoon, which I hope will last us several days.
Me, Saul and Nick have started playing the card game Hearts on a regular basis to pass the time and I must say, I do miss being able to settle down with a good book. I’m not missing my cell phone at all, or the internet for that matter, and that is kind of nice.
Life here for me continues to be about routines, but I’m also starting to take great advantage of the free time, with some more in-depth thinking and writing than I have felt up to till now – it is a rare chance that I plan not to waste.
Besides occasional food fantasies (today for hot toast and strawberry jam) I am not troubled overly by hunger, which I’m very glad of!
