Reviewed: pop-up tent from Front Runner

Why would you want to slave away, figuring out tent pole connections when you can watch the Front Runner tent flip and pop open right before your eyes?

The Front Runner Flip Pop Tent is one of a couple of the new-fangled jumping-jack tents that you can just chuck on the ground and miraculously, you have shelter. I reckon it’s a pretty cool trend that makes camping a total breeze.

Here is a video I took with the GoPro Hero3 Black Edition putting it up and packing it away. Up and down in less than a minute .

The tent is quick to set up and folds up into a big disc shape, reminiscent of the old windscreen protectors. The tent fits two people, but it does seem a little bit short if you’re very tall. That said, it makes the perfect kiddies shelter or beach tent.

There is a gap between the tents inner walls and the exterior water-proofing and durable floor to keep you dry. It also includes insect screens and has large windows and entrance to keep you cool too.

The canvas carry case has backpack straps to carry around and is about as big as a wheel, which means it could be a mission to pack into a small car.

Other nifty features include two overhead loops for hanging torches and reflective guy lines so you won’t trip over them on your way back from the loo.
