RAMFest is now in its eighth year and I think this may have been the best one yet. Elandskloof Farm in Helderstroom made for the perfect venue with vast camping spaces under trees and alongside bubbling rivers, along with dams to swim in and plenty of space for everyone to do their thing without feeling claustrophobic. There was a wide array of food stalls where you could get something to eat from as little as R20 and the showers were great too. The selection of bands was top notch with something for everyone, from rock to punk, folk to blues and of course plenty of metal (even played on bagpipes).
Absolutely everything ran smoothly (OK, they could’ve cleaned the toilets a little more often, but portaloos at festivals are always dodgy) and quite frankly, it was the best end to the summer festivals anyone who went could’ve wished for. Here’s a small selection of photos of what went down at RAMFest this year.
