Camping gear: Keep clean with a shower filter
For those of us who have been exposed to germ-phobic travellers, the acidic smell of chlorine tablets is all too familiar. While it pays to be cautious with drinking water, chemical showers are off-putting. Instead, get yourself a shower filter.
Filter cartridges attach to your handheld showerhead and prevent toxins and microbiological pathogens from entering the water stream. With regular use, cartridges need to be replaced only every three to four months, making them ideal for long overlanding expeditions where clean water is scarce.
