You might be thinking, ‘What on Earth is a Mawu Aquasac?’. It had me intrigued too, so I ordered one in to review.
The Mawu Aquasac is a nifty little drinking device that is half drinking sack, half bottle of water. You just fill it up, sling it over your back like a sling bag and off you go.

It’s not necessarily a new idea considering the timeless waterskin design, but combined with modern material, local craft, upcycling, social enterprise, emerging designers, illustration, collaboration, open source and imagination Mawu has created a winning combination in the form of a convenient, sustainable and fashionable water carrier.
The water sling is made by local crafters
The plastic drinking bladder is housed in a canvas bag and made from BPA-free durable plastic that is also washable. The fair trade canvases are made in the townships of Cape Town through Afrique du Sud Bidonvilles (ASB) a non-profit organisation.
The canvas bag zips open to reveal the bladder and it’s easiest to remove it when filling up (otherwise the whole bag gets wet).
